I am not a touchy person except with whoever my partner is, but my mom loves hugs. So when she really wants a hug she stands a little bit always and opens up her arms. This gives me time to prep and decide if I can do hug just then, and go in at will. When I’m done with the hug I’ll do a double pat if I want her to let go.
